The MySQL 7.4 to 7.5 upgrade script contains a comment line starting with --- which seems to be an invalid comment prefix for MySQL.

See https://forum.camunda.org/t/sql-syntax-in-mysql-engine-7-4-to-7-5-sql-line-215/855

  • verify that this is invalid MySQL syntax
  • investigate why the database upgrade tests didn't failed
  • the MySQL 7.4 to 7.5 upgrade scripts should be executable on MySQL

We use the SQL Maven Plugin to execute the SQL scripts. Maybe the plugin strips comments before executing them.
